I hate to say it but it would (so far) have to be Beren and Luthien. I wish that the full poem - as much as was completed- and the narrative story in Beren and Luthien were first, then add comments and history. I'm trying to read it but every couple pages it goes to notes. Not that I don't like the notes, but I would like to read the epic/story then go back and read the notes on how it was made.
I'm not a fan of whatever that short story with the edible magic star was. It felt too much like an improv bedtime story and I couldn't pick out any symbolism.
That one was Smith of Wootton Major. The magic star was a charm that was baked into a cake along with other charms, just like putting in coins in a Christmas pudding. The hero swallowed it by accident and gained the ability to travel to the elf lands.

Edible magic star? 😂 Wow.

I'm going to read that one now! :P

Why? What do you dislike?
So... It's treason then.
