So we have just introduced badges to the forum. They are awarded through activity on the forum. It doesn't mean a great deal, but I thought it was a cool little addition to the forum :)
Some of you may have noticed already that you've received them.
Awards (For now) will be as follows:
Soldier of Gondor - Contributes Regularly on the Forum (posts or comments)
Rider of Rohan - More than 20 Posts
Dunedain - More than 50 Posts
Elven Warrior - Over 100 Posts
Istari - Over 250 Posts
Valar - Over 500 Posts
Oh dear you have given me a target (dont worry I will try and make sure my posts are quality but it would be cool to be a Valar)
I'd be happy as a Rider of Rohan, thank you!! (p.s does this post count too! Ha!Ha!π)
Haha! Comments will only count towards the first badge. You have to create your own relevant posts to get the other badges :)
@Jake Rogers How many comments?
@William Took You Qualify! You should already have your badge :)
This is epic! Great idea!
This will definitely encourage me to post more. Excellent idea.
Glad to hear :D
@Jake Rogers I have noticed that when I hover over my username and my profile details pop-up, that it shows that I have 0 comments. Is that just because it's from my view?
@Jake Rogers Never mind. I figured out why.
*prepares to spam 500 posts to get the correct title*
Do you define a post as starting a new thread? Edit: Never mind; I just saw the earlier comment, which I missed the first time around.
are the badges automatic or do you have to assign them? in addition do admin have statistical data to make that process easier?
Also, how can we see how many thread we've started? We can't see that, just how many comments we've made.
you can go into your account profile and its one of your tabs
But I don't think there is a count anywhere.
It is not done automatically. An admin has to assign them. If it does not get done, contact James or myself and we will update it.
There is no specific count, but all your posts are shown on your profile. So they just have to be counted annoyingly! But as we monitor all posts, we have a good idea of how much people are posting and stats will be checked daily :)
Do you want help with the count?
@ShireofMiddleEarth I got it thanks :) But if you feel like you qualify for any other badges at any point, and it has not been updated, please let me know :)
@Jake Rogers Okay
@Jake Rogers Hi Jake i think I may qualify for Dunedain level?
Dunedain is fifty right? You have made quite a few posts Smeagol's Bane. I hope you get Dunedain!
Congrats to @Smeagol's Bane for being the first to reach the Dunedain badge!!
@Smeagol's Bane Congrats on earning the very first Dunedain badge.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
I just made my 20th post.
Rider of Rohan! 2nd person, Congratulations!
Is there an easier way to keep track instead of going to your profile and counting every post?
I don't think so.
i keep a tally
@Smeagol's Bane Why does yours say Rider of Rohan again? I thought you got Dunedain.
I was trying to get it so the badges stacked, and you could see all of the ones you have earned on your profile. But apparently it reverted back to showing the previous badge on the forum... annoying. From now on, I will just replace badges :)
The badges are stacked on our profiles. Otherwise, they just show the ones we started with.
My badge should be Rider of Rohan.
I think what he means is it would look like this if your Dunedain
Dunedain
Rider of Rohan
Soldier of Gondor
If you're a Rider, you just don't have Dunedain, and the higher you are, the longer your list of badges.
I think I qualify for Rider of Rohan!
Do I qualify yet as a Soldier of Gondor? I know I'll never be as talented as some of you guys/gals being Riders or Dunedains but I'd be happy to just be a Soldier!ππ€£π
You just have to comment regularly, maybe every two days?
@ShireofMiddleEarth sweet
Yay!
You are amazing Dorian! Hope you get to be Balin.
@ShireofMiddleEarth thanks that means alot.
@Dorian Trussell You earned it! You donated at least $350! :)
