I would like to see the forging of the rings and more to do with the elves, especially celebrimbor and gil-galad. I feel they are the closest characters to match what the the elves in the first age were like that we have not already seen in film

Let's see:
Annatar's failure to deceive the Elves of the Grey Havens.
His enlistment of the Elves of Eregion.
The War of the Elves and Sauron.
The establishment of Númenórean dominions in Middle-earth.
The recruitment of the Nazgûl.
Sauron's rise and defeat as the King of Men.
The Fall of Númenor.
I'm not sure whether this show should continue into the return of Sauron and the War of the Last Alliance. Perhaps the series should conclude with the drowning of Númenor.
Andrew, I'd like to go with all of the above #8 😀
The Downfall of Númenor might be a bit too much to hope for as we don't know whether there will be a huge time-skip in the series.
