I played a solo game on May 25 using the MERP rules. I got some of my old 25 mm lead miniatures and my terrain (some of which I handcrafted). Here's the after action report. Apologies for the blurriness of some of the photos.
Mate that grain is the size of pasta!, a couple of counsels about photos:
Lower the ISO a bit(if you use a cellphone camera you can also change it, i recommend maximun 800), and add a bit of lighting (the iso is the sensibility to light, the lower the less light you get but the less noise it gets).
Also dont get the camera too close there is a minimun distance that you leave so the camera can get a picture and doest have a blur siluette
Thanks for the advice. I was gaming in my room, so I had to use whatever space and lighting I had. The white background you see is the screen meant to be used with a movie projector. That's probably the majority of the grain you see. My camera is a handheld digital camera, and I haven't used it in a long time. We were still on Windows XP when I got that camera.
I should have done a few screenshots of Sunday's game on Tabletop Simulator, but I had my hands full with GMing new players and problems with sound (too much echo and noise for some reason).
Several of the characters are the sons of my previous characters. Amrod and Maglor are brothers and the son of a Half-elf bard who married a noblewoman in Minas Ithil. He fell in battle when the sons were young. Galador and Lindir are second cousins. Lindir's father and Galador's mother are first cousins who married other members of the party. Bingo is the son of a Hobbit scout who married a Stoor maiden west of Mirkwood.
They are adventuring 30 years after the original party's exploits, so I call this MERP: The Next Generation (cue Star Trek music).
The characters are based in Minas Ithil in TA 1670. The city won't fall into the Witch King's hands for another 330 years or so. Minas Ithil is Gondor's intellectual and cultural center at this time. It's an artsy fartsy place, so some would argue that evil is a step up.
